Hey guys! I'm terribly sorry I have not been able to post for another while but I had exams and lots of stuff and wanted to search for something to make a really good post. I just noticed that summer is arriving (tgis) and white is the perfect colour for a day or an evening at the beach! Here, in Spain it is the "Ibiza colour" as lots of people wear it during the summer (because it does not make you hot, which explains why most houses in Spain are white as white reflects sun rays)

Hello everyone!

This will be about how important it is to go a place where you know it will be literally freezing with cute not-prepared-for-extreme-cold clothes. Because you can end up really messed up.

I recently went to Gredos, one of the coldest places here in Spain and I dediced to invest some (not too much) on some cute things that would make me look good and not freeze.

If you are going skiing or montaneering with friends, at least for me, the most important thing is a cap or a balaclava or anything to maintain your head cold. Seriously, there are some very cool ones and, taking in count that you loose a massive amount of heat through the head, it is highly recommendable. There are different types that fit everyone and some of them look very cute.

Shoes. Mountain Boots. I don't care if you just bought some amazing UGG's or Supergas or whatever. Some mountain boots are hideous but no-one is looking at your feet and if you wear UGG's in the mountain they can get destroyed. Even if you don't really like them, mountain boots are very important and if they last long enough to save your feet.

Roxy has some ski coats that are expensive (around 120 euros) but very warm and they look good with almost everything. They make about twenty-something new models each season. If you want something cheaper try Decathlon, the french company. The brand Wed'ze has some ski coats for around 60 euros.

Hope it was useful. The mountains can also be fun, so start hiking with your friends, If you like photography you can get some amazing shots (or some good new posts for instagram, btw, ours is @thefileofstyle ) and it's a great sport!

First post of 2015!

I'm sorry if I have not posted this year but with finals (yes, finals this early) and stuff I could not really prepare a good post.

Before the happy moment of knowing what to buy in your next shopping spree (if you aren't as broke as me) I just wanted to take a moment to say how awesome is Jamie Brewer.

For those who don't know her, Jamie is a girl with down-syndrome who got famous after playing Addie Langdon in American Horror Story. 

After, she played two successful roles on seasons 3 and 4 of the same show. She has been devoted to raise awareness about people with Down Syndrome. And now she has been the first model with Down Syndrome to ever participate in the New York Fashion Week.

 She alone has changed the world so please just take a moment to appreciate ths amazing woman, as she alone has changed the fashion world and helped many understand a very important issue.

She is simply amazing.

I wear my boyfriend's jeans

At last! A post about one of the most trendy clothes this year, and probably the most controversial one. Probably all of you would have wondered at least once if you should buy the boyfriend jeans or have at least tried them on.

The boyfriend jeans were introduced by some brands as Gap or H&M some time ago. Other items such as the boyfriend blazers or hoodies were put into the market. The idea was for girls to wear and borrow their boyfriends clothes, with looked loose and casual. 

Just to make it clear. Boyfriend jeans are not MEN'S JEANS. They are still designed for the female form, but are inspired on men's trousers. If they weren't they would look hideous. So if you bought some Urban Outfitter's men jeans and are still thinking why they don't look right, those are not boyfriend jeans. If you look closely you will see that boyfriend jeans usually have a high waist and are shorter so they fit well.

The images are posted are a look that I think will look fine with the boyfriend jeans. As you can see they are sporty, casual clothes. Personally I don't believe boyfriend jeans look good with very elegant clothes.

I think that they look great with wedges and a shirt or blouse but not with heels and Valentino blazer's. I guess that it just how you see yourself in it. If you feel good go for it, although I think it won't look proper (too much contrast between no-big-deal pants and i-am-tres-chic-wait-what-is-chic clothes).

There has been many controversy because some people think they make girls became extremely thin. As they are originally designed for boys, which have way thinner legs than us, they make girls feel they have to have much thinner legs in order to look well in them.

This is not true. Personally I don't have thin legs and hey look good in me. They are made for girls and no one expects you to have thin legs to wear them.

I like them because they are comfy and look amazing with short tees, all type of shoes (even high heeled boots). Ask Santa for them (they are a bit more expensive than normal jeans).

It's called "class", bitches

What do yo think about this style? The velvet blue top (matches the necklace) gives a touch of elegance and sexiness. The shoes and pants make it more casual. The cardigan is very cosy and looks amazing with it. It contrasts with the tight top because it is so loose. The beanie and the shoes also give it a no-big-deal-thing.

I just love it because it does not look too elegant or too casual, it just gets the right balance.

Qué pensais sobre este conjunto? El top en tonos medianoche de terciopelo (a conjunto con el collar) le da un toque muy sexy y elegante. Los zapatos y pantalones, sin embargo le dan un toque más casual. El cardigan es muy calentito y queda perfecto a pesar de que parezca menos desenfadado que el resto del conjunto. Contrasta mucho con el color oscuro y lo ceñido que es el top, ya que es todo lo contrario. La "beanie" y los zapatos terminan de darle un estilo hipster.

Me encanta este conjunto porque no es ni demasiado elegante o muy casual y resulta muy "ponible" con todo tipo de cosas.

El invierno se acerca (y la noche de fin de año, gente)

Aunque todo el mundo todavía anhela el verano, días de descanso, la piel bronceada, la playa y las noches locas tenemos que asumir que se acerca el invierno ... que ya hace rato que ha llegado. La famosa frase de los Stark de Juego de Tronos.

Esto significa que también se acerca la noche de fin de año, que para muchas es "EL EVENTO". Tanto si vas a pasar una noche más tranquila con tu familia o si vas a esperar con un tacón fuera de casa hasta que sean las doce para salir de fiesta y darlo todo, hay que vestir bien (tanto si es para ahorrar a tu familia los "como has crecido" o para parecerse a Blanca Padilla.

Muchas ya tengáis desde verano el conjunto que vas a llevar. Aquí vienen ideas para las que no lo tienen tan claro.

 Si te vas a quedar con tu familia no te arregles como si fueses a una macrofiesta, ya que se verá excesivo para la ocasión. Arréglate pero no te maquilles demasiado. Puedes usar un vestido corto pero no lleno de lentejuelas y con un escote de vértigo. Usa zapatos planos y terciopelo rojo (para la buena suerte) y algunos complementos monos.

Pero si usted va a salir de fiesta y recibir este año de una manera asombrosa, ve totalmente equipada para estar increíble. Prueba los ojos ahumados, a pesar de que tardan mucho tiempo en hacerse  se ven muy bien. Recuerda no usar una barra de labios muy brillante si te pones demasiado colorete. Este año las barras de labios de color rojo oscuro va a ser muy de moda, pero llevas mucho maquillaje en los ojos o las mejillas prueba una más clarita, posiblemente rosa o un "gloss".

Winter is coming (and 31st December night)

Although everyone still longs for summer, lazy days, tanned skin, beach and crazy nights we have to assume that winter is coming... and arrived. We can no longer deny the famous "Game of Thrones" phrase.

And you know what this means, New Eve's night is coming too. Either if you are staying with your family or a dinner-and-countdown thing or going out with friends to start the year partying or getting massively drunk (typical, duh).

So probably all of you already have decided what you will wear for your the night and the rest of you will still be thinking about it. Here are some ideas so that you look amazing on that special night.

 If you are staying with your family don't do the over-the-top thing because it will just look too much for the occassion. You can wear a short or sparkling dress but not the same one you will wear if you were going to a night club. I would wear flat shoes and red velvet (for good luck) and some nice jewerelly. Don't use too much make up remember you are not going to try and conquer any hearts tonight, babes.

I would wear something like this. All from Pull and Bear. Not too expensive.


But if you are going out to party and receive this year in an amazing way. Go fully equipped to look amazing. Try the smokey eyes, although they take a long time to make they look great. Remember never to wear a very bright lipstick if you wear too much blusher. This year dark red lipsticks will be very trendy, but do not use it if you wear pink.

THEM BEANIES

You know Brandy Melville, the amazing "California style" clothing line? It is one of my favorite clothing brands because I absolutely love it's style, so casual and that looks awesome. And I want to say something about it because recently it has been heavily criticised for its "One size fits all" labels. The clothes are designed for skinny girls and that can cause severe health problems because some of them may think they are too fat to wear the clothes they like.

This may sound harsh but they are not going to change their clothes because some people complain. They have a good business going on there and they have the image of "clothes for slim girls". There are lots of other brands that sell amazing clothes and you do not need Brandy to feel cool or special even if that is the image they want you to have. But don't change your body to fit into their clothes PLEASE.


Well I just love the beanies because they  look great with coats, boots and scarfs in winter or with boyfriend jeans and tees and converse in summer (very hipster like). They can look great and

give a very sassy look. And the messages look right for many of us girls "BITCH DON'T KILL MY VIBE" seriously we have all thought about this when you face the typical stupid "cool" girl. Or "ALIENS EXIST" (if you think they exist you can wear it on a beanie babe). They are about 16 dollars and have lot's of messages on them from "Gypsy" to old typical "Los Angeles", "Rolling with the homies" or if you feel more radical and different "Rebel" or "Stay Weird".

If you like them don't be scared to wear them. Remember that staying weird is better than staying "normal".

"The Touch"

The pastel tones always look good in girls with fair hair or lighter skin because they harmonize,and dark skinned or because they just look amazing and contrast. So although the spring and the time of lightcolors and pastels has passed, I leave this look so casual yet elegant. Although the trousers are very simple, bag, blouseand platforms give elegance.

And this is very, very important in deciding what to wear. Natural looks way better than "over the top". Simplicity is the key to success. This look has class and although some elements may seem casual, it has its own personality. It looks pretty sweet but the platforms give a very chic look.

 
I recommend to all this: casual wear clothing with some more formal accessory, which makes do not look overdressed but with a great touch!

Saber vestir para cada ocasión

7 maneras de encontrar el outfit ideal para cada ocasión

¿Nunca os ha pasado eso de llegar a un lugar y darte cuenta de que no vas "perfecta" para la ocasión? La verdad es que te frustras bastante y te dan unas ganas tremendas de ir a casa a cambiarte pero no puedes ¿por qué tenía dos vestidos sobre la cama y elijo el que era peor? y me estoy quedando sin gusto y qué hago yo ahora y...
Este post me ha llevado bastante tiempo pero espero que os ayude mucho

1. Piensa en el tipo de evento. Bueno, sé que esto es siempre lo primero que dicen las revistas cuando lees los artículos tipo "Qué llevar a una fiesta". Es importante saber cómo vestirse para cada ocasión. Pero sobretodo pensar en quién va a ir a la fiesta, evento ... y cómo vestirían, y tratar de armonizar con eso. Eso sí, nunca lleves algo con lo que no te sientas completamente cómodo porque se nota a la legua.


2. Elige los accesorios. Si el vestido está lleno de pedrería y adornos no uses demasiados accesorios, ya que se verá demasiado , como si tratases de parecer demasiado llamativo y "way too much". Usa anillos de oro o de plata discretos o pulseras y un bolso sin adornos, y con un color que coincida con los zapatos, para que no sean demasiados colores.


3. Los colores que coincidan. 
Si eres de piel clara y vas a un sitio de la noche, tonos dorados o pálidos se ven mejor. Si quieres lucir más sexy o llamativa más también puedes vestir de negro o rojo (si eres rubia), ya que se verá mejor. Si eres de piel oscura naranjas, dorados, verdes y colores intensos se verán increíbles aunque los colores pálidos también contrastan con la piel y resaltan bastante.


4. Pelo. Esto puede parecer lo más, pero que en realidad es muy sencillo. Si llevas algo con la espalda abierta haz un moño o un peinado que no deje el pelo suelto. Si el vestido tiene un montón de pedrería o un diseño llamativo haz un recogido para que se aprecie mejor. Si el vestido es más simple puede dejar su pelo suelto o usar un poco de diadema o decoración por lo que no se ve tan "vacío". Eso sí, nunca ocultes tu cara con el típico peinado a lo "Veronica Lake" (mucho menos si te has pasado 3 horitas maquillándote).


5. Zapatos. Use zapatos de tacón alto sólo si sabes cómo caminar en ellos. Abstente si no sabes andar bien. Plataformas sólo se ven bien si usas un pantalón y una blusa o camisa y tal vez con un vestido suelto (aunque tu decides en función de cómo te veas). Si quieres un ir aspecto elegante usa salones (como Jimmy Choos y si no hay presupuesto otros, no morirse), que no tienen que ser demasiado altos. Con una falda o un vestidito que parece ser de dos partes los tacones sientan genial. Esto depende más de la persona.


6. Maquillaje. Reglas principales: si te pones un montón de maquillaje en los ojos no hagas lo mismo en los labios o será demasiado. Los "smokey eyes" sólo se ven bien si los has practicado varias veces y realmente sabes cómo hacerlo. Maquillaje oscuro hace que los ojos azules y verdes se vean increíbles y un poco de sombra de ojos de oro o claros hace que los ojos oscuros se ven muy bien también. Y si tienes demasiado rímel pon papel higiénico enrollado en un dedo,  entre las pestañas y cierra los ojos para eliminar el exceso de rímel.


7. Bolso. Tiene que ser de un tono similar de tus accesorios (si son grandes y de color) o sus zapatos. Usa carteras grandes y coloridas si usas un traje muy sencillo y sin demasiados colores y los simples con un vestido con encaje o gemas. Pero preferiblemente uno que sea discreto

Recomiendo muy especialmente a la boutique "Serendipity" en Córdoba. Tienen ropa a muy buen precio y de muchísimas marcas. Si quieres ir a la moda y muy ideal no dejo de recomendarla.
 De hecho la blusa que llevo en estas fotos es de ahí y tan sólo me costó 15 eurazos.

Está ubicada en la Avenida Guerrita 22 así que si pasáis por Córdoba no vayais al Zara que lo tenéis en todas partes y pasaos por aquí
